Sustainability Plan 2025/26 - Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Dalton St Michael’s C.E. Primary School, we believe that small changes can make a big difference. Caring for God’s creation is part of who we are, and we are committed to making our school a greener, healthier place for everyone.
In recent years, we have already taken important steps to reduce our environmental impact. All of our school lighting has been upgraded to energy-efficient LEDs, and motion sensors in corridors and toilets help us save electricity. Every window is now double-glazed, and our grounds are filled with trees for shade and bee-friendly plants to support biodiversity. This year, we are also replacing external doors with more energy-efficient ones, ensuring our classrooms and corridors stay warm and draught-free.
These improvements are part of our wider Climate Action Plan, which guides us in making thoughtful, sustainable choices. From reducing waste and saving energy to encouraging biodiversity and embedding sustainability into our curriculum, we want our pupils to learn not only why these changes matter, but also how they can make a positive difference in their own lives.
Together—staff, pupils, families, and our community—we are working towards a brighter, more sustainable future.
